Welcome

Growing up in South Bend, Indiana I was raised with an inclination towards nature. The city, named after its southern positioning to the St. Joseph River that flows through the epicenter of the city was a place of equal nostalgia for me as a local, and as a reminder of the mismanagement of the city's resources. The city once served as the manufacturing site of one of the biggest automotive industries in the Midwest, who's deteriorating infrastructure imitates the character of the industrial era. I grew up surrounded by architecture reminiscent of the 20th century, in from ornate Queen- Anne mansions, antique cathedrals, and limestone storefronts along the downtown streets. Recent and ongoing initiatives to restore the once vivacious character of the downtown area along with modern materials and features have kept me inspired and motivated in this way, I hope that by applying my course knowledge in environmental factors that I can make a valuable contribution towards future sustainable initiatives.
